Today the wonderful ladies from the Bellerive CWA descended on my office for their monthly meeting. It's not easy for community groups to find space that's big enough to meet their needs without prohibitive costs. If you have a group looking for somewhere to meet, please get in touch with my office.
I’m delighted to welcome an inquiry into one of the most pressing issues facing Tasmanians – power prices. I committed to this during my 2022 by-election campaign, and with the support of the Legislative Council am proud to deliver it. While it is only one step towards a solution, it is a big win for the households and businesses.
Always a pleasure to welcome new Australian citizens to Clarence City Council such as Leo.

I recently visited the newly opened Shepherd Centre in Hobart. The Shepherd Centre is a not-for-profit providing specialised programs for children with hearing loss and their families. Their world-leading early intervention support can be lifechanging for children’s development, and produce short and long-term returns to our economy. It's fantastic to see federal funding to deliver it.

Thanks to our health care workers! I had a scare last month after presenting with stomach pains and a fever at Royal Hobart Hospital. Within hours I was in surgery having my appendix removed, and was also treated for sepsis. I am beyond grateful for the support and care provided by staff at the hospital. I had a high temperature, shortness of breath, and was sweating and shaking. Other signs of sepsis include chills, rapid heart rate, tiredness and headaches. Now you know the signs, I hope you never experience them. I have fully recovered and am back to it!
